Once your order is confirmed, for wedding cakes, I require a £50 deposit. For celebration cakes and sweet treats, I require 20% of the full quote. This deposit is non-refundable and non-transferable. Please note, your booking is only secured once the deposit has been paid. Failure to pay the deposit, will result in the date being released and another booking may be taken and we may no longer be able to accommodate you.
Once the deposit has been paid, you will be given a sketch of your cake design. Please check all the details provided on this sketch along with the booking form as this is what I will be working from. Therefore, any errors made on these and not picked up on will not be considered our error.
I do not copy other people’s cakes however I can take elements as inspiration and use it as a basis to design your cake around. If you request a cake that is not our original design, we will seek the permission of the original designer to create it. This is obviously not guaranteed.
I will also try and do my best to match colour elements of the cake to samples and pictures provided. However, I cannot ensure a true match as colours do vary.
If you would like to sample the delicious flavours I have on offer, cake sample boxes are available to order. Four flavours can be chosen from my menu and cost £10. For an additional cost, they can be posted and additional flavours requested. If you decide to go ahead and order your wedding cake from me, the amount of the box will be deducted from your final balance. Once a deposit has been paid, a complimentary consultation will take place at my home address to discuss in more detail your ideas and design for your cake. Following this consultation, a sketch will be provided. If you would like a consultation before paying your deposit, this will cost £30.
Sometimes throughout the construction process of your order, I may change certain elements of the design. In these instances, I will seek prior approval. If you would like to make alterations to your order, please contact me at least 2 weeks before collection and I will do my best to accommodate. Changes to cake designs may be subject to an additional cost and this will be discussed when making the changes.
For wedding cakes, final payment is to be made 4 weeks before the date of the wedding which will clearly be stated on your booking form. For celebration cakes, final payment is to be made 1 week before collection. I accept payments via bank transfer, paypal or cash. If final payment is not made within these time frames, I reserve the right to cancel your booking, and the deposit will be lost. For orders placed within the above timeframes, full payment must be made at time of booking. Unfortunately, I do not offer the option to pay in instalments or by credit or debit card.
If you cancel your order, your deposit is non-refundable and non-transferable. If you cancel your order after full payment has been made within the timeframes outlined above, your money is non-refundable as I will have already spent time making elements of the cake and bought ingredients and materials. If you also cancel after these time frames and have not paid, you will be invoiced for the full amount required.
There may be a rare occasion Cake Creations by Rebecca will need to cancel your order due to exceptional circumstance. In this case, as much notice as possible will be given and any monies paid, including deposits, refunded. If required, I will also assist you in finding a replacement cake maker of the same high standard to make fulfil the order.
I work from home and so my kitchen is a domestic kitchen and not one that is allergy free. All allergy and special dietary requirements must be conveyed to me at enquiry stage, and I do reserve the right to refuse any orders where a serious allergy is conveyed to me. All cakes, cupcakes and sweet treats contain gluten, butter and eggs and are made in an environment that handles nuts, soya and alcohol. I will do my best to work with you when an allergy has been conveyed to me, but it is important to note as my kitchen is not allergy free, I can never 100% rule out the possibility of cross contamination. Therefore, I would recommend anyone with a severe nut, dairy or gluten intolerance does not eat cakes, cupcakes or sweet treats from Cake Creations by Rebecca.
Cake Creations by Rebecca accepts no liability for customers suffering allergic reactions from eating our cakes, cupcakes and sweet treats. Unfortunately, I cannot cater for dairy free and vegan cakes.
We prefer to deliver all our wedding cakes as often they involve delicate and fragile work. Mileage is charged at £25 within 10 miles of SK7 2AH. Journeys greater than this distance will be charged at an additional 75p per mile and will include the return journey (mileage is calculated based on Google maps mileage from SK7 2AH). You will also be charged a set up time fee which as a minimum is £20. This is to cover the time spent at the venue setting up the cake. It is your responsibility to ensure that you have provided us with the set-up details and location of the cake at the venue. You must ensure that the display location is level and stable and the cake will be kept away from a direct heat source and out of a sunny location.
We don’t usually deliver celebration cakes and it is the customers responsibility to collect these. However, if you require delivery, it will be charged at the same rate as outlined above although the set-up time fee is not usually charged for celebration cakes.
When collecting your cake, please do not hold at the sides of the box, always hold underneath to prevent any damage and ensuring the cake remains level. When transporting your cake, please ensure it is kept flat and secured in the boot or the footwell of your car to prevent damage from sliding around and I recommend driving with care. A cake care guide will be attached to the box of your cake providing you with full information on how to transport it. We do not take responsibility for any damage that may occur to your cake once it has left our premises.
It is very much appreciated if you can collect your order at the time agreed. I often have more than one order going out at a time, and it is important that there are no crossovers with collection as I need time to talk through with my customers their order and ensure that it is collected safely. I may also have a busy day and need to focus on fulfilling other orders. All orders are collected from my home address so it is important to be aware that I may not be able to accommodate late collections as I may have plans and not be in. I do appreciate that on occasions, unexpected things may happen, and I will do my best to accommodate a different collection time but please note for the above reasons, this may not always be possible.
We recommend collecting your cake either on the day of your special occasion and no earlier than the day before to ensure it is at its best and freshest. If you require your cake or cupcakes the day before an event, simply store them in the box provided at room temperature and out of direct sunlight. Do not store in the fridge. Once cut, we recommend storing any leftovers in the fridge for consuming within 2 to 3 days.
I have a variety of beautiful cake stands which my customers can hire to present their cakes on at their occasion. If you would like to do this, a hire charge of £20 is required and is not refundable. Depending upon the original cost of the cake stand an additional amount will be required to be paid as a deposit which in the event of damage, loss or not returned will be kept. All hired stands must be returned within 7 days.
There are often elements of non-edible items in your cake for example, flower picks, dowels, acrylic toppers. If this is the case, I will inform you (or a contact at your venue if I am delivering) what they are. It is your responsibility to ensure they are removed before consumption.
The Company, Cake Creations by Rebecca is the sole designer and owner of the final cake design. All rights in any original design created and designed by the company shall remain the exclusive property of the company. I take pictures and videos of all my completed orders and reserve the right to use these on social media to promote my business.
In the unlikely event there is an issue with your cake, it must be brought to my attention within 48 hours of the cake being delivered so I can be given the opportunity to assess the nature of the problem. If the complaint of the cake is about the quality of it, the remainder of the cake will need to be returned within 48 hours of delivery for inspection. For any complaints, I can only deal with the person who booked the cake originally.
You must give me an opportunity to resolve the issue and agree not to post any defamatory comments or pictures on online forums or social media channels before discussing the situation with me and allowing me reasonable time to provide a satisfactory solution. Once a solution has been reached, you agree not to post any defamatory comments or pictures on online forums or social media at any point in the future. If this happens, I may seek to take legal action against you.
I pride myself on having a good reputation and it is really important for me that I always do my utmost to maintain this and uphold good relationships with my customers.
